Rand West City Covid-19 cases at 66 to date

West Rand District's Covid-19 cases now at 570 mark with 31 new cases.

To date (8 June) Rand West City has seen a total of 66 Covid-19 infections, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown per district. There have been 15 recoveries.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 169 and 281 cases respectively. There are 54 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale and Merafong have seen 44 and five recoveries respectively. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the West Rand District to date to 570, with 64 recoveries.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 293, with 132 recoveries.

As at 8 June, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 6 258, with 2 575 recoveries and 47 deaths. Currently 511 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
