Relief for those most in need

A community member, Gloria Serobatse, said she was happy that the Foundation thought of them.

The Hlaudi Foundation is one of the latest non-profit organisations to reach out to those in need during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, 10 June, its members handed out food parcels to the Wheatlands community.

According to Moreki Tselanye, treasurer of the Foundation, their organisation was formed from united churches when they saw that people were suffering, especially those in informal settlements.

“We gave the community fruit and vegetables that were donated to us by President Hyper. We want the community to know we are still with them in this difficult time,” he said.

Community leader Zwelibanzi Tsone said he is responsible for identifying people and families who are unemployed.

“I know the needy people, so when people wish to help the community, I assist in identifying those who really need help,” he said.

“Most of our community members are unemployed so now they will be able to cook some soup for their families. Some of them don’t even have R1 to buy an apple or banana, so I’m really grateful for not just myself, but for my community as well,” she said.
