West Rand District’s Covid-19 cases near 1 000 mark; eight deaths
West Rand District now stands at 955 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as at 16 June is 955 with eight deaths and 288 recoveries. There were 43 new cases.
According to the Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest report, Rand West City had a total of 184 Covid-19 cases and 20 recoveries.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 352 and 333 cases respectively. There are still 86 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale and Merafong have seen 69 and 199 recoveries respectively.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 722, with 188 recoveries.
As at 16 June, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 13 023, with 3 716 recoveries and 87 deaths. Currently 630 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
