Chess tourney held in Mohlakeng

Youth of Mohlakeng decided to focus on sport in celebration of Youth Day.

The Shukushukuma Youth Movement based in Mohlakeng hosted a chess tournament on Tuesday, 16 June.

According to Alexander Itumeleng Mpaga, founder of the Movement, the organisation is about community development and uplifting the youth.

He said the organisation is based on the principles of poverty alleviation, education and sport, and they address issues such as youth unemployment. They also host events that highlight these principles.

With this pandemic we were not able to do something major, so the youth of Mohlakeng decided to focus on sport in celebration of Youth Day, just to keep them busy and their minds active,” he said.
