Covid-19 cases in Rand West City at 300

Government says 110 new cases brings total in the West Rand District to 1 549 cases, with 485 recoveries and eight deaths.

Rand West City’s total confirmed Covid-19 cases reached 300, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have 675 and 485 cases respectively. There are 89 unallocated cases in this District as well. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the West Rand District to 1 549, with 485 recoveries and eight deaths. In terms of recoveries, Rand West City remains at 61, Mogale City at 129 and Merafong City at 295.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases stands at 1 283, with 289 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stands at 22 341, with 5 620 recoveries and 122 deaths. Currently, 952 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.

By 22 June, South Africa had a total of 101 590 positive, confirmed Covid-19 cases with 53 444 recoveries and 1 991 deaths.
