Covid-19 cases in Rand West City now at 329

A total of 92 new cases sees West Rand District passing the 1 600 mark.

There has been a total of 329 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City as at 23 June with the West Rand District having passed the 1 600 mark.

This is according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases per district and sub-district.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, had 722 and 501 cases respectively. There are 89 unallocated cases in this District as well.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the West Rand District to 1 641, with eight deaths and 485 recoveries – 129 in Mogale City, 61 in Rand West City and 295 in Merafong City.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases stands at 1 401, with 294 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stood at 24 041, with 5 856 recoveries and 122 deaths. Currently 956 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
