West Rand District pass the 2 300 mark with 15 deaths in total
Mogale City still on top of the list with over 1 000 cases, followed by Merafong City and finally Rand West City.
A total of 15 people have died in the West Rand District due to Covid-19 infection, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases.

Covid-19 cases in West Rand District now 1 758 – 117 new infections
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as at 28 June is 2 375 with 680 recoveries. There are 128 new cases.
Rand West City has had a total of 488 Covid-19 cases and 112 recoveries.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 1 155 and 641 cases respectively. There are 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale and Merafong have seen 216 and 352 recoveries respectively.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 2 190, with 580 recoveries.
As at 28 June, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 36 895, with 9 738 recoveries and 174 deaths. Currently 1 332 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
