Over 2 000 currently in Gauteng hospitals as Rand West City passes 500

Total number of cases in the West Rand District as at 29 June is 2 536 with 680 recoveries – 161 new cases.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City has risen to 517, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases.

A total of 112 people have recovered so far.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as at 29 June is 2 536 with 15 deaths and 680 recoveries. There are 161 new cases.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 1 250 and 678 cases respectively. There are still 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale and Merafong have seen 216 and 352 recoveries respectively.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 2 345, with 621 recoveries.

As at 29 June, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 39 841, with 10 534 recoveries and 180 deaths. Currently 2 376 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
