How WAWA spent their 67 minutes for Madiba

WAWA handed out sandwiches to the Bundu Inn community for their 67 minutes.

As we are celebrating the month of Nelson Mandela, people across the country give 67 minutes of their time to bring a change in someone’s life, or in the community as a whole.

Non-profit organisation Women Against Women and Child Abuse (WAWA) handed out sandwiches to the Ward 13 community at Bundu Inn on Friday, 17 July.

According to the WAWA centre manager, Enrique Bhana they received 1 400 sandwiches from the Belly 2 Brain organisation to give to the needy.

“Our slogan for this year is: How Mandela are you? What are you doing in this lockdown? As I always say, we just want to give back to our surrounding community and make a difference. I am very grateful to Belly 2 Brain.

I was so touched when I heard from them, knowing that it’s very difficult for businesses in these times but they still managed to give to the community,” Enrique said.

Community spokesperson for Ward 13, Shiela Tladi said she was so excited that WAWA has not forgotten them.

“I am grateful to WAWA. May God bless them and whoever gave to them, and may they continue to do good in our community. Thank you,” she said.

“We as WAWA we are committed to being there for women and children, especially in their time of need,” Enrique concluded.
