Let’s get together and clean up our village!

You can make a difference in your neighbourhood. Help clean up Hillshaven on 5 September.

The community of Hillshaven will embark on a mass clean-up campaign in the area and they want those in the surrounding neighbourhood to join them.

The clean-up is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 5 September.

Witty Seripane, who approached the Herald said, “We, the Interim Committee of Hillshaven will be cleaning up our village and welcome Spring to show we care for our environment.

“Our area is irreplaceable. We find it alarming that in today’s times we think it is normal to see trash scattered around everywhere. Not only are we ruining the beauty of Hillshaven, we are also putting our health at high risk. We often rely on our local municipalities and the government to look after us, but this year we decided to clean up our village ourselves.

This is important to us because we want our future children to be able to see the importance of keeping their environment clean and see the wonderful rewards nature has to offer. You can make a difference in your neighbourhood.”

Witty asked the community to bring along any tools, brooms, shovels and gloves to the clean-up. The organisers will supply black bags.
