Rand West City now has 3 519 confirmed cases of Covid-19

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 30 August is 13 420, with 250 deaths and 11 022 recoveries. There are 30 new cases.

As at 30 August, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 3 519, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 2 974 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 6 994 and 2 815 cases respectively. There are 92 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 5 623 and 2 425 recoveries respectively.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 10 925, with 9 892 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 209 648 with 181 299 recoveries and 3 572 deaths.

A total number of 2 844 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
