Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary pleads for help

Founder says over 80 dogs and 160 cats need your help. Launches guardian angel program.

Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary, an NPO in Wilbotsdal is again calling for help from all animal lovers.

According to Louisa Rossouw, owner and founder of the sanctuary there are currently 86 dogs and 168 cats on the premises and do they need all the help they can to feed and take care of them.

According to Louisa, they are currently going through 50kgs of dog food a day, and she has to buy about 400kgs dog food out of her pocket.

At this moment we are in need of dog food, cleaning supplies like brooms, mops, pine gel, jik, blankets, washing powder and anything else that we can use to clean with”.

She added that now they also have a guardian angel program, where people can become a guardian for any cat or dog of their choice and pay any amount between R50 and R500 every month.

They get a guardian angel certificate to state who they are looking after, and the money that is donated monthly we will then use towards expenses like vet bills, microchipping and food. You will then be a guardian angel until the animal gets adopted and goes to a forever-home”.

Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary is open from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 5pm and on Sunday between 8am and 2pm.

She said volunteers are more than welcome to come and play and spend time with the cats and dogs as well as take the dogs for walks.
