Heritage Day event to help the elderly in Mohlakeng

One hundred elderly in Mohlakeng treated to lunch for Heritage Day by the EFF.

The elderly in Ward 11 of Mohlakeng benefited during a Heritage Day event the EFF hosted on Thursday, 24 September.

According to Lawrence Malatji, branch secretary of the EFF, they provided lunch to the elders of the community.

“Some of the elders are still waiting for food parcels since lockdown,” he said. “Most of the community depend on the grants, which is not enough to make ends meet. We managed to host 100 grannies during the event and they were are well served.”

A cultural group called ‘Dithaga tsa ngwao’, which means cultural masters, performed for the elderly as well.
