‘Third wave should not stop us from staying fit, living healthy’ – personal trainer
Health fanatic and personal trainer believes there's no need to stop working out amidst a third wave. 'Just comply with the regulations and you'll see the results' – she said.
Health fanatic and founder of the Don Juliano Health Club, Hilda Biyela encouraged people to still work out amidst the third wave.
“It doesn’t mean we should stop,” the 45-year-old said.
Being a personal trainer, Hilda said people can still stay fit and live healthily by simply complying with regulations – even if it means training somewhat differently than you are used to.
“Since Covid-19 broke out there were minor things that I had to adjust; for example, I used to have more than 20 people in one session, but now I have divided them into groups of five for more social distancing and ventilation in the facility,” Hilda said.

Every time trainers come to her facility, they sanitize and temperature readings are done.
“We also make sure the gym equipment is sanitized,” Hilda added.
However, she said while she has managed to keep the virus at bay, self-defence classes which involve physical contact have been halted completely.
She said while many have been hard hit by Covid-19, she’s glad that she can monitor all the regulations without incurring any additional costs – such as paying rent while the facility is temporarily closed – like many mainstream gym facilities.
“Luckily for me, it really is more of a lifestyle than anything else. I believe that despite the difficulty that we’re all facing, we’ll make it through. It’s important not to forget what we want to achieve with our health and bodies.
“People need to know that your health is your wealth. You simply don’t work out because you see your friend doing it, you have to set yourself goals.
“If it’s difficult for you to go to gym, there are simple exercises you can do by simply visiting the internet – whether you’re a beginner or advanced, you don’t have to stop working out because the pandemic is here, just comply with the regulations and you’ll see the results.”
