Danie Henning tribute: ‘He united leaders of different churches’

Danie Henning, a well-known business owner in Randfontein and a devoted Christian who captivated his audience during regular prayer rallies across town sadly passed away recently at the age of 71.
According to Danie ‘s daughter, Estelle van Staden, her father fell ill and was admitted to the Netcare Olivedale Hospital ICU in Randburg on June 14 as all West Rand hospitals were full. Nine days later, on June 23, Danie passed away due to Covid-19 complications.
In 1982 Danie moved to Randfontein where he bought two Christian bookshops – Pelgrims Boekwinkel on Main Reef Road, and Randgate Boekwinkel next to AFM Randgate on Bailey Street.
He sold the bookshops in 1994 and started working at CUM Books in Krugersdorp. He soon became the National Operational Manager, until his retirement.
After retiring, he worked at Estelle Mini Print on Village Street with his wife and daughter.
“His vision was for the whole town to get on their knees and pray,” Estelle said.
He wrote lots of material, such as Randfontein under God’s Hand, and The Freedom of Randfontein. All the Prayer Oven Ministry material is available here.
