WATCH: Man lifts cement bag weighing 50kg … with his mouth!
Mr Jaws can lift 50kg from the ground using only his jaw, but the 36-year-old does not want to stop there.
Lifting anything weighing 50kg requires extra strength from anyone, but how about doing it with your jaw? Just ask 36-year-old Cornelius Motshabi …
Mr Jaws, as he is known, showed that nothing is impossible and defied the odds by proving to the Herald on camera that he lifted a 50kg bag of fertiliser at a warehouse in Elandsvlei during an interview.
But that’s not all … Just by clenching his jaw, Cornelius has been making other jaws drop by lifting just about any object heavy enough to prove his unique strength and ability.
“This idea came when I was at home all alone one day; you know as a child you get up to no good when you’re bored. I started wondering if I could lift a maize meal bag using my jaw; at first I could not do it because I was only 13 years old,” Cornelius said.
Because he couldn’t let his parents find out, Cornelius trained himself in secret for years until he reached his 50kg milestone.
“My parents wouldn’t have liked it. They would’ve been very worried that I might injure myself or lose a tooth,” Cornelius said.
He said despite lifting varying objects, he has never felt sore or endured any pain – he also claimed that he could pull truck tyres with his jaw.
Although this is not categorised as a sport, Cornelius said he has grown to love ‘his hobby’. The goal is to lift objects and items even heavier than 50kg.
“This is something I want to be known for uniquely. I ultimately want to be able to pull a small vehicle with my jaw. I know the idea sounds crazy but that is what I want to achieve.”
He said by showing off his talent for free in his community, he hopes he will one day catch the attention of the right people so that he will be put on the map and perhaps become world famous.
“No weight will eventually hold me back,” he added.
