Woman critically injured in partial head-on crash

Partial head-on crash on the far West Rand left a woman with critical injuries.

A woman suffered critical injuries when she was knocked down by a car that was involved in a partial head-on crash on Sunday, August 22 on the R501 outside Welverdiend on the far West Rand.

ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell said they arrived on scene with the Fire Department and Provincial Emergency Medical Services at about 16:26.

He said the critically injured woman was tended to by the provincial services and transported to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care.

Two people from the Suzuki which rolled into her were found to have suffered moderate injuries. They had self-extricated and were treated and transported to Carletonville Hospital as well.”

Campbell explained that the occupants of the second light motor vehicle were unharmed.

The police and the Traffic Department were also on the scene for further investigations.
