Slight increase in active Covid-19 cases for Rand West City

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 175. A total of 13 590 people have recovered so far. There has been 507 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 78.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 29 100 and 10 013 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 28 079 and 9 562 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 53 295 with 1 661 deaths and 51 233 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 401.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 52 193 and 50 955 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 900 916 with 871 650 recoveries and 18 492 deaths. This translates to 10 774 active cases within the Province.
