Management of the FJL Wells Mine Primary School have recently introduced an Afrikaans-improvement programme in the foundation phase of their school.
According to principal Sello Mphatwe, the programme will benefit learners who are in Grades R to 3 with hopes that learners will use the language proficiently.
We’ve decided to introduce this programme so that our learners can be more proficient in the language of Afrikaans, because we’ve realised more emphasis is put on learning others languages, while in the end they fall behind in their Afrikaans.
“We hope that this programme will benefit our learners immensely,” Mphatswe said.
