Eight-hour power outage this Sunday, April 24

Residents in several areas of Rand West City should brace themselves for a planned power outage of eight hours on April 24.

Management of the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) confirmed that there will be an eight-hour power outage on Sunday April 24 due to critical maintenance that needs to be performed on a substation in Aureus.

According to the Executive Manager of Infrastructure at the RWCLM, Bongani Nkambule, electricity will be disconnected between 08:00 and 16:00.

Areas to be affected are Nola, Aranda, Aureus Ext 1, Oasis, Orion, Parts of Randfontein between 1st Street and 6th Street, Station Mall, shops opposite Station Mall, Spar Main Reef Road, and Westergloor.

All electrical installations and apparatus must be treated as live at all times. We apologise for the inconvenience,” Nkambule said.
