Sub-polar air on its way to Gauteng

Sunday is expected to be extremely cold, with a low of -2 and a high of 15.

Get your extra blankets and warm clothes out as Gauteng is getting ready for an icy weekend ahead.

According to Gauteng Weather’s Twitter page, we are expecting to see a powerful cold front with sub-polar air to hit Gauteng late on Sunday, July 9.

They added that single-digit daytime temperatures are possible for most of the province on Monday, July 10.

There is a huge drop in temperature from Saturday’s lowest being 5°C and high of 21°C.

It’s predicted that Sunday’s lowest temperature will be -2°C and reach a high of 15°C. Monday isn’t much warmer with a low temperature of -1 and a high of only 9°C.

Both Sunday and Monday are expected to be windy.
