Dealership fuels hope with massive food donation
Ben Morgenrood Ford Randfontein delivered over a ton of fresh vegetables to two care centres as part of a global initiative to fight food insecurity.
As part of the global Ford Building Together initiative, Ben Morgenrood Ford Randfontein held a food drive and delivered more than one ton of fresh vegetables to the Connie Mulder Centre and the Wings of Inspiration Care Centre.
According to Lisa Huisman from Ben Morgenrood Ford Randfontein, this initiative was made possible through the support of various sponsors. Neale Hill, president of Ford Motor Company Africa, and his team also joined on the day.

Their first stop was the Connie Mulder Centre, which houses around 200 residents and 19 day workers. The centre has 80 staff members, eight residential hostels, two elderly care homes, and an on-site clinic for medical and therapeutic needs.
During their second stop, the Wings of Inspiration Group also received kilograms of fresh vegetables. Huisman explained that the care centre houses more than 100 residents and provides them with frail care and assisted living services.

The dealership not only donated more than one ton of fresh food, but they are also part of a global initiative aimed at addressing food security, known as the Ford Building Together initiative.
Lisa stated that they feel incredibly proud to be part of this initiative.
“It’s not about the vehicles, but rather the people. It gives us the chance to make a real, tangible difference in our community.
Being aligned with a global programme of this scale makes us feel connected to something bigger, while still having the opportunity to directly impact lives right here in Randfontein,” she expressed.
She noted that their team has been actively involved in charity work over the past few years, including raising funds for local homes, making Christmas more enjoyable for the less fortunate, and donating food during the lockdown period.

“We’re never shy to roll up our sleeves when it comes to charity work. In June this year, we hosted a golf day in support of the Renaissance Elderly Age Home. Charity doesn’t always have to be costly – you can team up with others and make a real difference. On behalf of Ben Morgenrood Ford, thank you for helping us build stronger communities together,” she concluded.
