Man found hanged in Randridge

Theft tops the list of Mapogo A Mathamaga Security's latest crime incident report. A suicide was also reported.

It was a relatively quiet week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s client base in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said four incidents were reported for the period between Monday, September 19 and Sunday, September 26.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Wednesday, September 21 at 10:54 – Theft and arrest on Angelier Street, Homelake: A perpetrator stole a 30 metre power cable through the palisade fence and was caught in the act by the security officer on site who requested assistance from the armed response units. On arrival the perpetrator was arrested and handed to the police for further investigation.

• Thursday, September 22 at 07:40 – Theft on Sugarbird Street, Helikon Park: During the evening perpetrator climbed over the gate to gain entry onto the property and stole an outside alarm beam sensor and fled the scene.

• Friday, September 23 at 06:08 – Suicide on Ventersdorp Road, Randridge: On arrival at the premises contact was made with the client who confirmed that one of his workers committed suicide by hanging himself. The police were contacted and they took over the scene for further investigation.

• Sunday, September 25 September at 02:53 – Vandalism and an arrest on Kanfer Street, Greenhills: A perpetrator ripped a board from the owner’s wall and attempted to leave the premises, but was arrested by the response unit who handed the perpetrator over to the police for further investigation.
