Manhunt launched for three perpetrators after man gunned down in vehicle
Mohlakeng Police investigating a case of murder after a 31-year-old man was shot in his minibus multiple times.
Police are searching for three gunmen who shot and killed a man inside his minibus at about 18:00 in Toekomsrus on October 17.
The man has since been identified as 31-year-old Harry Ashley and a case of murder is being investigated.
According to a statement by the Mohlakeng Police, the victim was in his Toyota Quantum in Toekomsrus when he was approached by three gunmen.
“The suspects opened fire, subsequently shooting the victim multiple times while he sat in his vehicle. Afterward, the gunmen fled the scene as the victim was left in his vehicle. The police claimed that the victim was declared dead when they arrived on the scene. The motive for the killing cannot be confirmed at this stage,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo.
Police also announced a manhunt for the gunmen, appealing to anyone who might have information that can assist in the investigation. If any information can be given, it is advised to call the nearest police station or call crime stop on 08600 10111.
