Sibanye-Stillwater employee in court for brutal murder of colleague
The Sibanye-Stillwater employee who is accused of brutally killing his colleague is currently in police custody and made his first appearance in the Westonaria Magistrate’s Court.
The 43-year-old Sibanye-Stillwater employee accused of brutally killing his colleague has been identified as Boinelelo Lefefa.
Lefefa made his first appearance in the Westonaria Magistrate’s Court today November 13.
According to NPA Regional spokesperson for Gauteng Phindi Mjonondwane the court appearance is in connection with the fatal stabbing of Lefefa’s colleague that occurred on Thursday, November 9.

Mjonondwane added that the accused is facing a charge of premeditated murder.
Mjonondwane confirmed that on November 9, the accused stepped onto the Leseding hostel premises in search of the deceased. Lefefa saw the deceased at a neaby spaza shop and approached him. She explained that the accused stabbed the deceased several times before cutting open his stomach and attempted to cut off his head.
Thereafter, the accused proceeded to take his cellphone in a means to take photos and make videos while posing next to the deceased.

“The security personnel at the mine did not intervene as they were not armed,” Mjonondwane said.
She continued by saying that the accused committed the heinous crime in broad daylight in front of onlookers.
The pictures and videos taken quickly circulated on social media.
“The accused handed over the knife to the police and is currently in custody. The case has been postponed to November 20 for legal representation and a formal bail application,” Mjonondwane concluded.
