Four arrests made in West Rand operations, including hijacked vehicle recovery
Police arrested four suspects in separate incidents across the West Rand, including a hijacked vehicle case in Randfontein.
Police arrested four suspects in separate incidents across the West Rand between March 20 and March 28, including a case involving a hijacked vehicle in Randfontein.
According to West Rand Flying Squad spokesperson Karen du Plessis, the arrests were made during routine operations in the area.
In Randfontein, a suspect was arrested on March 25 at about 18:00 in AfriVillage after being found in possession of a hijacked Ford Ranger valued at about R150 000.

In a separate incident in Rietvallei on March 20, a suspect was arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property. A complainant was allegedly stabbed, and household items to the value of about R2 500 were damaged.
On March 26 at about 01:30, police arrested another suspect for common assault after an alleged attack on a family member.
The latest arrest took place on March 28, when a suspect was traced following an alleged assault in which a complainant’s cellphone was also damaged. The suspect faces charges of common assault and malicious damage to property.
All suspects are expected to appear in their respective magistrates’ courts.
