Two DUI arrests in Bekkersdal

The West Rand Flying Squad made multiple arrests between May 21 and 23, including recovering a stolen Toyota and arresting drunk drivers in Bekkersdal.

The police’s West Rand Flying Squad (WRFS) made several arrests across the West Rand between May 21 and 23.

According to WRFS spokesperson Karen du Plessis, three arrests were made during this period in Kagiso and Bekkersdal.

Early afternoon on May 21, officers were conducting patrols in Mohlakeng when a victim pointed out that his vehicle, which had been stolen during a house robbery, was at a specific location. Du Plessis said officers followed up and arrested a suspect in Kagiso who was found in possession of the stolen Toyota, valued at about R30 000.

During the early hours of May 23, officers patrolling in Bekkersdal arrested a suspect for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Du Plessis added that later that same morning, another suspect was also arrested in Bekkersdal for driving under the influence of alcohol.
