Scores of residents from different parts of Mohlakeng were without water for three consecutive days and have had to knock on doors to ask for the precious resource.

The Randfontein Herald spoke to Rand West City Local Municipality spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa who said that the fault was on Eskom’s side.

“Please be informed that the power outage that happened in Randfontein that resulted in this problem is directly related to a fault on Eskom’s part. Eskom control was notified and they dispatched a technician to investigate the matter,” said Montshiwa who added that the matter has since been resolved.

He added that residents are receiving water from their taps and those who are without, will gradually get it as water is getting pumped.
