The municipality debunks rumours circulating on social media regarding their failure to submit the Cost of Supply study to NERSA.
Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) has squashed rumours circulating on social media that they have failed to submit the Cost of Supply study to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).
Municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa assured ratepayers that this information is false.
He added the municipality has complied with all necessary regulations and further explained they have submitted the required documents on time to ensure tariffs are approved by the council and by NERSA.
“Compliance is taken very seriously and the municipality is committed to following all regulations. We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that all information is accurate and up-to-date, and we remain dedicated to protecting the interests of our ratepayers,” Montshiwa stated.
