Water shortage due to supply demand
The municipality has issued a statement explaining Rand Water's challenges with supply and demand.
Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) has confirmed that due to high demand, water supply will be decreased.
According to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, Rand Water is currently experiencing challenges with demand and supply. He explained this is leading to a decrease in water supply to the Westergloor and Greenhills reservoirs.
As a result, the water levels in these reservoirs are significantly low.
He further stated the affected areas include Mohlakeng, Toekomsrus, Randfontein, Robinpark and the surrounding areas.
