Get your tokens before the deadline!
The municipality is encouraging the community to follow guidelines as they have transitioned to pre-paid meters.
The Rand West City Local Municipality is transitioning to pre-paid meters and it is advising residents to adhere to the guidelines.
According to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, the municipality will now be converting to pre-paid meters. He further mentioned community members can obtain the two essential change tokens from municipal cashiers or online.
After receiving the tokens, residents are advised to follow three steps given by the municipality.
First, enter the first set of digits from your recode token and wait for acceptance. Next, enter the next 20 digits of your recode token and wait for confirmation. Finally, enter the 20 digits of your purchased token to recharge your meter.
Montshiwa stated all residents are encouraged to follow the guidelines before November 24.
“It is essential to comply with the deadline; failure to do so will result in the meter being unable to accept your purchased token,” he concluded.
