Power restored in some parts of town

Electricity has finally been restored in some areas affected by the faulty transformers, although a portion of Homelake will be attended to today.

Ward councillor Alwyn van Tonder revealed some good news as some parts of town have finally been switched on.

“The team started switching on areas one by one at about 22:00 on Wednesday, January 29. There is, however, a portion of Homelake that is still off. The team will be attending to it today, January 30,” Van Tonder said.

He further expressed it has been a long two weeks, thanking the staff from the electrical department as well as the external service providers that were involved in restoring the electricity.

“There might still be single complaints in the areas that were affected and the residents are welcome to give the complaints through to myself, ward councillor Craig Harrison or any of the other councillors. We remain committed to be of service to the residents of Rand West City,” he concluded.
