Eskom maintenance causes 10-hour power outage

The current power outage is due to a 10-hour planned maintenance by Eskom and will continue until 18:00.

Rand West City Local Municipality has confirmed that the current power outage is scheduled to last until 18:00 due to planned maintenance.

Spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa stated that the outage is necessary to allow Eskom to repair an overhead feeder line. The outage began today (29 March).

The following substations are affected:

• Mohlakeng Substation
• Westergloor Substation
• Drowel Substation

Residents are reminded to treat all electrical installations as live during this period,” Montshiwa concluded.
