Water supply disruptions under way in parts of Randfontein
Water supply interruptions are affecting parts of Randfontein today after a power outage halted pumping operations at the Greenhills water tower.
Residents and businesses in Randfontein and surrounding areas are experiencing water supply interruptions today, July 31, as a scheduled power outage affects the Greenhills water tower.
The interruptions are expected to continue until about 16:00 and are affecting water distribution to Randfontein, Robinpark, Greenhills, the industrial area, as well as Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital and Life Robinson Private Hospital.

According to Rand West City Local Municipality spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, the power outage is a result of new cables being installed at the Industries Substation, which supplies electricity to the Greenhills water tower. The interruption has temporarily halted pumping operations, resulting in reduced water pressure or complete water outages in affected areas.
Residents are urged to use water sparingly until the water tower is fully operational again. Businesses and institutions, particularly healthcare facilities, are encouraged to implement contingency measures to minimise disruptions.
The municipality apologised for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience and cooperation.
