Grade 7 learners receive pep talk as they prepare for high school

Police officers tackled issues around adopting ill behaviour when going to high school and teenage pregnancy among others.

Grade 7 learners from Seatile Primary School in Bekkersdal received an awakening pep talk ahead of their final exams which was meant to ensure that they have a clear head on their shoulders as they prepare for high school.

This was at the school’s morning assembly on October 24 in a joint effort between the Bekkersdal Police, the Department of Health and religious leaders, as well as other stakeholders.

The talk was aimed at addressing the social ills and preparing the learners for high school – as well as wishing them well for their up-coming examinations.

Reverend Mosidi Mofokeng took to the stage and opened the morning assembly with prayer and gave a message of encouragement.

“This time of the year is very crucial for every learner.

“We are confident that with the support from families, teachers, departments such as police, traffic officers, victim friendly rooms, and department of health and not forgetting the Almighty our Lord, all is possible,” said Mofokeng.

Meanwhile issues around bullying, substance abuse and gambling were among some of the pertinent issues addressed.

The school management acknowledged and thanked those who took the effort to be present at the school and for their efforts in fighting and eradicate crimes around their premises.
