Resident gives back to the needy for Heritage Day

Mapule Mphatswe wanted to help the less fortunate, so she decided to give them a special treat.

Resident Mapule Mphatswe stayed true to her word of wanting to help the less fortunate and gifted them with clothing items, as well as cooked for them.

This was on September 23 and in celebration of Heritage Day (September 24).

Mphatswe is the founder of the Mapule Mphatswe Foundation which does charity work and was formally established in 2021 but has been doing good deeds for the community since 2008.

Speaking to the Herald, Mphatswe said that she went to the community of Plot 17 in Randgate and also visited the Mphe Seriti Orphanage in Pelzvale, which houses vulnerable children.

“In celebration of Heritage Day, I decided to pay a visit to the less fortunate and give back to the community. This was through the handing out of clothes that I collected over the months from the different communities in the Rand West.

“I also cooked a warm and hearty meal for them and my son was also hands-on in assisting me when handing out the food. I decided to rope him in to teach him responsibility, kindness, and the spirit of giving back,” said Mphatswe.
