Coding and robotics graduation a success

Owner and facilitator at the school, Leonie Pretorius said that she is adamant that the future lies in coding and robotics.

Learners from different parts of Randfontein came out in their numbers to attend Stimuzone48’s first coding and robotics graduation ceremony.

This was on December 2 at Kardia House International. The aim was to recognise and show appreciation for the hard work that learners have put in throughout the year and assure them that they are doing great.

Speaking to the Randfontein Herald in an interview, owner and facilitator at the school, Leonie Pretorius, said that she is adamant that the future lies in coding and robotics.

She urges people to tap into the space and adds that it is a universal language that is shaping what the world looks like.

“Coding and robotics are a huge part of our lives. It starts with the remote control and the laptops that we use and trickles down to the big automated machines that are used to run different industries. This is where the future is moving and it is so important for people to know coding and robotics and that’s why we decided to host these awards.

“We just wanted to go the extra mile and show our learners some appreciation and give them the assurance of knowing that we are aware of their abilities and the progress they’ve made,” said Pretorius.

She added that not only do learners who take up coding and robotics gain analytical skills, but they also gain self-confidence and can articulate themselves better.

The school teaches computer literacy block-based coding, text-based coding such as Python and Java, and educational games among other programs.

They also have plans to teach cyber security, artificial intelligence, and ethical hacking in 2024.
