Another fundraiser a small step to keep the SPCA afloat
SPCA hosts a much-needed fundraiser and informative session at Tambotie Mall ahead of the festive season.
The RandWest SPCA recently held another fundraiser to keep the organisation going.
At the same time, they also warned residents about the festive season and the dangers fireworks pose to pets.
According to RandWest SPCA chairperson Brenda Eloff, the committee decided to have the fundraiser at Tambotie Mall on October 26 and managed to raise R1 200.
“The financial assistance we receive from the municipality is helpful but minimal. Donations and fundraisers are the only way we can cover expenses and thus keep our door open,” she expressed.
Brenda added since ‘silly season’ is around the corner, the number of intakes has already increased and their kennels are full of animals.
She also pleaded with those who have pets to take caution this festive season.
“It is not uncommon for fireworks on New Year’s but please keep your pets inside of the home. Medicine is available for your pets to help calm them down during this time and to those who decide to use fireworks, please don’t for the sake of the animals,” she concluded.
