RandWest SPCA urges the public to refrain from using fireworks

RandWest SPCA warns against fireworks during Diwali and Guy Fawkes Day.

She noted animals’ hearing is sensitive and fireworks are traumatic for them. Not only domestic animals are affected by the fireworks but also livestock especially horses and wild animals.

She added a few tips people can use to keep their animals calm when fireworks are being lit including sedatives that can be found at a vet, keeping the animals indoors and away from areas where they can harm themselves and most importantly not to partake in the lighting of fireworks.
