SPCA make strides to help identify animals

The RandWest SPCA has partnered with YapScan to make identifying lost and stray dogs easier. They are now inviting the community to use the application.

The RandWest SPCA has announced its partnership with YapScan, a revolutionary new identification technique that will help identify dogs.

According to inspector manager René van Straten, YapScan is a free application powered by AI. The application can be used to scan a pet dog’s snout to register it on the database. It also has an added layer of identification protection should the pet go missing.

“RandWest SPCA will be adding all strays and adopted dogs to the site, and every scan assists us in raising funds as a bonus. We are available for any questions or queries in this regard.

“We would love it if all our supporters jumped on board, downloaded the app, give your dogs a scan and let’s move forward into a future that gives us as many means as possible to identify lost and stray dogs,” René concluded.
