Help make Lilitha’s singing dreams come true

Seventeen-year-old Lilitha needs funds to take her talents to New York and represent South Africa.

Randfontein High School learner Lilitha Spelman needs donations in order to represent South Africa with her vocal talent in New York.

The 17-year-old’s passion for singing started at a young age when she sang at family gatherings. Her talent was improved when she started singing in church at the age of four. Since then, Lilitha explained her talent only enhanced.

It was at the age of 15 years old that she participated in the school choir, sang as a guest speaker at multiple church events and she even sang at a wedding before. Lilitha is also currently the vocalist for a band called Celestial Chords.

“Singing is how I can tell you how I feel without actually telling you. Whatever emotion I am feeling, I use singing to express it,” she explained.

Her mother is her biggest motivation.

She aims to one day become an independent artist with music that she can call her own and she would like to own her own studio. She would like to reach these goals one day, but currently, her most important goal is raising funds to go to New York.

Recently, Lilitha participated in the Show Your Talent Competition where she won the title of Overall Best Vocalist.

She was also scouted by members of Talent America and was offered the opportunity to perform in New York and represent South Africa.

Even though she is excited to showcase her talents, she does not have the funds to travel overseas. Therefore, she has decided to host fundraisers. She will be hosting a concert at Westcol Corporate Office’s hall on November 30 where she will be showcasing her vocal gifts.

Anyone who is able to donate funds or is interested in attending Lilitha’s concert can contact her on 063 587 8277.
