NPOs big plans to continue helping abused women and children

The SOS Women and Children Foundation have their sights set on a great 2025.

The SOS Women and Children Foundation, an NPO that helps abused women and children recently hosted a festive feast for those in their care.

They also treated victims to a New Year’s braai and plan to make 2025 a great year.

Mothers, children and people on the SASSA grant (who live on the premises) attended the events and had a ball.

“They enjoyed it. The children also opened presents on Christmas Day. It was very successful since we were able to feed people who didn’t have food during the festive season. We wish a good year to the community and we ask that parents give special care to their children,” said founder Amanda Goodchild.

The geysers helps generate income for the foundation.

This year, the foundation plans to raise funds by selling geysers.

“With this income, we will ensure the growth of the foundation and help victims of domestic abuse.”

The foundation’s biggest concern is children. Especially when it comes to mothers having partners or husbands and allowing them near the children without testing the waters first. This includes allowing the partner to bathe the child or leaving the child unsupervised with a person they don’t completely know.

“It’s very rare that people with abusive behaviour change their ways. Therefore, the best solution is for the mother or wife to get out of the relationship as soon as possible,” Goodchild said.
