Dog given a second chance at life

No More Tears recently rescued a dog despite all odds.

No More Tears Animal Rescue recently saved a dog on the brink of death.

According to director Stephan Hendricks, they received a call about a dog roaming a field in Venterspos. It was only after picking up the dog that the NPO realised in what condition he was.

The dog has a serious case of mange, is extremely malnourished, is showing signs of biliary, and seems to be suffering a broken leg that has healed improperly.

Hendricks added the dog’s leg will be amputated once it is healthy enough to have an operation.

“This is the face of a dog that is on the brink of giving up – a soul that no longer felt the need to live. This boy most likely never felt any affection, most probably never felt a warm blanket or bed,” Hendricks expressed.

The dog is currently at the Randfontein Animal Hospital being treated.

“I honestly think that he knows he is finally safe and that he is going to get the help he so much deserves. The cheaper option was to send this boy to heaven, but we feel he deserves a second chance,” he explained.

If anyone is in the position to make any contribution towards the dog’s vet bill, No More Tears can be contacted on 084 433 7748.
