Agricultural training programme to assist farmers

The Department of Health and other stakeholders will host a training programme for farmers to ensure sustainability.

Ebotse, together with the Department of Health, will be hosting an Agricultural Training Programme to help equip local farmers with the knowledge to build a sustainable future.

Co-ordinators Paballo Khoza and Bongani Seboa will form part of this training while covering practical skills such as crop cultivation and sustainable farming practices. The training commences on April 1 and will go on for three months. It will be hosted by the said department at Westonaria Agri-Park’s training room.

Community members who are passionate about farming and interested in becoming agricultural entrepreneurs are cordially invited to participate.

However, there are criteria, namely:

• You must be a resident of Bekkersdaal or Zenzele
• You must be over 18 to 55 years old and own a South African ID
• Disabled people who do not receive the SASSA grant are eligible
• You should have a strong interest in farming and a commitment to the training programme
• Spaces are limited, so early application is encouraged
• Priority will be given to individuals who have contributed to the UIF before
• All applicants will be required to provide proof of residence and meet the eligibility criteria

Paballo and Bongani added that the training will be free of charge. They mentioned the deadline for the application is today, March 26.
