The couple first saw each other in 1974 when Jessie was the leader of the choir at the Nazarene Church. Afterwards, both of them worked together as Sunday school teachers.
Saul noted that before meeting Jessie, he had been married with four children, however, his wife passed away. He noted it made it challenging for him to ask for Jessie’s hand in marriage since she had no children.
“After much prayer, I gathered the courage to finally ask her to marry me. She answered my question by saying she would have to pray about it first.
While I was waiting for her reply, I kept thinking about what a good mother she would be for my children. She was very fond of them and would frequently buy them presents,” Saul explained.
When they were rehearsing the Christmas play, Saul asked Jessie again if she wanted to marry him, and finally, she agreed. Both of them also agreed that April 26, 1975, would be the perfect date for a wedding. When they were married, Saul was 33 years old and Jessie was 41.
“During our marriage, we always communicated with each other, no matter how small or big the decision was that we had to make. The love we built during the years has kept us going,” he said.

Furthermore, Saul also gave a bit of advice to the youth.
“I would like to encourage young people to wait until they are mature before having children,” he explained.
Saul and Jessie had their first daughter when she was 42 years old, and their second daughter was born when she was 44 years old. They have since toured the whole of South Africa. In 2009, they travelled to Houston, Texas and visited places like Washington DC, Florida, Mississippi and Disneyland.
We have lived a life bearing many fruits in the presence of the Holy Spirit while acknowledging God.
“As Matthew 6 verse 33 states: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things shall be added unto you,” he concluded.
