Fourth Toekomsrus Spring Day unites locals

With great food, lively music, and fun sports, the popular Toekomsrus Spring Day worked wonders to help uplift the community.

The fourth annual Toekomsrus Spring Day brought the community together in celebration of the new season.

Manny Mabapa, organiser of the event, explained that he saw the need to bring the community together and uplift recreational activities and infrastructure.

According to Manny, children could, among other things, enjoy the jumping castle while the adults visited the stalls.

“There was also a colour run and aerobics. The soccer and netball games were a big hit, and sponsors also handed over equipment for recreational activities to the community. Numerous businesses, artists and community members joined in to make the day possible,” he said.

“It was a great success, regardless of the dust,” laughed Manny, adding that “seeing us happy, working together and uplifting each other is wonderful.”

He noted this was the fourth successful spring day event, and they are already looking forward to next year. Manny then concluded that he wishes for more sponsors to show their support so the event can grow and make a difference in the community.
