Have you seen Jakkie? Beloved cat missing since October 13

Jakkie the cat went missing on October 13, and her family is desperately hoping for her safe return.

The family of Jakkie, a cat that went missing from Granaat Avenue, is appealing to the community to be on the lookout for their beloved pet.

Vanessa van den Berg-Louw, Jakkie’s owner, explained that she went missing on October 13. Their cats are allowed to go outside during the day, but they are brought into the house around 17:00. However, that afternoon, Jakkie didn’t come home.

“She usually comes home by herself when it starts to get dark. If the doors are already closed, she calls for us to open them, because she is quite timid. That afternoon, we just couldn’t find her,” said Vanessa.

She noted, “We hoped she would make her appearance the next morning. We put out food for her, but there hasn’t been any sign of her.”

Vanessa described Jakkie as a soft cat with a gentle voice and big eyes. They often call her ‘Squeaky Toy’ because of her cute meow. She also noted that Jakkie is afraid of people she doesn’t know.

Any person with information can contact Vanessa on 082 446 0199.

“We have eight cats and two puppies as well as a cockatiel, and they are all a big part of me and my two sons’ little family. Jakkie and her three sisters were raised by me and my son. Their mother died of complications a few hours after their birth. We can’t imagine losing her,” Vanessa concluded.
