Walk, talk and raise awareness: Breast cancer event at Simunye Library

In support of those who battle against breast cancer, Rand West Libraries will be hosting a walk and talk to spread awareness.

Rand West Libraries will be hosting a walk-and-talk event to raise awareness about breast cancer while celebrating survivors.

According to programme librarian Thandeka Legae, the event will take place on October 24.

Residents will start the walk at 08:30 from the Simunye Library, follow a route through Ext 5, and then return to the library. The talk will begin at 10:00, during which motivational speakers will share their testimonies.

Thandeka advised that residents who wish to participate should wear pink. She also suggested bringing a hat and water for refreshment.

The event will provide important information, including how to recognise the signs of breast cancer and available screening options. The aim is to support survivors and raise awareness within the community.
