Local pageant finalist reaches out to those in need
At only nine years old, Zuney Bietje is doing her part to make a difference in the community and put smiles on the faces of others.
Infinity pageant finalist Zuney Bietje is on a mission to make the world a better place by supporting local organisations.
Zuney (9), a learner at Laerskool Randfontein and a current Miss Petite Randfontein finalist, hopes to make a difference through various outreach projects benefiting No More Tears Animal Sanctuary and Baby G Safe Haven.
The Randfontein Herald previously reported on Zuney’s support for No More Tears, which included donations and spending a day with the animals.
She is at it again with a colour run to be held at Laerskool Randfontein on November 28 at 13:00. Participants can either buy a ticket for R20 or donate dog food. All donations will be shared between No More Tears and Baby G. Zuney explained that anyone is welcome to join the colour run, and some of the other pageant finalists will also be attending.
In support of Baby G Safe Haven, Zuney is also collecting old clothes, non-perishable food, hygiene products and toys. In December, she plans to host a children’s party at the haven, where sweets packets and gifts will be distributed to celebrate the festive season.
On December 24, she will also distribute food parcels to those in need.
Anyone who would like to donate can contact Zuney’s mother, Claudell Maree, on 074 689 2924.
