Multi Charity hosts heartwarming Christmas celebration for families

Multi Charity Randfontein celebrated the festive season with children in the community through food, games and gifts.

Multi Charity Randfontein held an outreach for vulnerable children in the community at Fantasy Farmyard to celebrate the festive season.

Store owner Monica Lancellas explained that since they opened their doors nine years ago, they have hosted annual outreaches like this. However, this was the first year they invited an organisation. Children from the SOS Women and Children Foundation, along with children from underprivileged families in the area, were invited to spend the day.

The day started with scripture, which Monica said is the foundation of Christmas and a way to teach the children what the season is truly about. Afterwards, the children enjoyed games and swimming before sitting down with their mothers for a hearty meal and dessert at a beautifully decorated Christmas table. Sweet packets and gifts were handed out to both mothers and children. Photos were also taken to give the families a lasting memory of the day.

The day ended with each child holding a sparkler while Silent Night played.

“It was through the grace of God that we were able to reach out to these families. I also want to thank my volunteers and those who donated the mommy parcels,” said Monica.

She also thanked Annie Brown and Helena Loots for the use of their venue.
